Calamorro Skyrace 2025
The history of Calamorro Skyrace has evolved since its first edition in 2008, being one of the pioneering events that began to be held in Andalusia during the early days of mountain races in our community. Feria de Plantas de Colección 2025
Feria de Plantas de Colección 2025 is a plant fair held in Benalmádena from April 18-20 and in Iturraran Botanical Garden on April 26-27, 2025. The event showcases rare and exotic plant species, attracting plant collectors and enthusiasts. Visitors can discover unique plants such as bonsais, carnivorous plants, and Mediterranean species, making it a must-visit for gardening and botany lovers.

Semana Santa
A very important week is Semana Santa in Benalmádena is a vibrant celebration of Holy Week held from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. The town hosts processions, featuring elaborate floats, religious statues, and bands playing solemn music. These events reflect local traditions, drawing both locals and tourists to witness the emotional and cultural significance of the celebrations, with a focus on faith, devotion, and community.

Jueves Santo
Jueves Santo in Benalmádena (Holy Thursday) is a key day in the Semana Santa celebrations, held on the Thursday before Easter. The day features processions with religious statues, accompanied by solemn music and candlelight. Viernes Santo
Good Friday or Viernes Santo in Benalmádena is one of the most significant days of Semana Santa. On June 23rd it is San Juan in Benalmádena which is celebrated on June 23rd to mark the Feast of St. John the Baptist. The event is known for its beach bonfires, fireworks, and nighttime festivities along the coast. Locals and tourists gather to celebrate with music, dancing, and traditional rituals, including jumping over bonfires for good luck, making it a lively and vibrant summer celebration.

Virgen del Carmen
Virgen del Carmen in Benalmádena is celebrated on July 16th in honor of the town’s patron saint, the Virgin of Carmen, protector of fishermen. The day features a procession where a statue of the Virgin is taken to the sea, followed by a boat parade. Festivities include traditional music, dancing, and fireworks, making it a significant religious and cultural celebration for both locals and visitors.

Asuncion de la Virgen
In August the Asunción de la Virgen in Benalmádena is celebrated on the 15th in honor of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. La Feria de Malaga
Be ready for the biggest party in the area. La Feria de Málaga is a major annual festival held in August, celebrating the city’s history and culture. Día siguiente al día de la Hispanidad
After the summer, in October, we have the Día siguiente al Día de la Hispanidad (October 13th) is celebrated the day after Hispanic Day in Spain. While not a widely recognized holiday, it is often observed with local events or family gatherings, marking the continued reflection on Spain’s cultural ties with Latin America and other Spanish-speaking nations. It is a quieter day following the national celebrations of Hispanic heritage and Spain’s historical significance.

Día de todos Los Santos
All Saints’ Day or as they call it; Día de Todos los Santos is celebrated on November 1st in Spain. It is a day to honor and remember the deceased, with families visiting cemeteries to decorate graves with flowers. The day is marked by religious services, reflecting on the lives of saints and loved ones, and is a time for reflection and remembrance across the country.

Día de la Constitución Española
This day we call the Día de la Constitución Española (Spanish Constitution Day) and it is celebrated on December 6th to commemorate the adoption of Spain’s democratic constitution in 1978. The day is marked by official ceremonies, parades, and cultural events. It highlights Spain’s transition to democracy and is a national holiday that reflects the country’s political and social progress.

La Inmaculada Concepción
To honor the belief in the immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary La Inmaculada Concepción (The Immaculate Conception) is celebrated on December 8th in Spain. Celebrating her purity and sinlessness. The day is marked by religious services, processions, and local festivities, with many areas observing the holiday as a time for reflection and devotion.
